Are you feeling frustrated, stuck or burned out?
Clinical supervision can help you both improve your work and increase your enjoyment of it.
Many clients come to therapy with the idea that therapy is accomplished by showing up and talking once per week. There is a vague hope that this alone will bring about change or relief from symptoms. When therapists are faced with this, they often find it difficult to help clients get clear on goals and specify exactly what the client and therapist will do together to bring about change. It is frustrating when clients are not getting better or when they seem to be relating to therapy as a place to chat or worse yet, sitting back and waiting for you to magically cure them. In supervision with Leslie, you will identify where the process is getting stuck so that you can easily add some interventions or a new approach to the session to get unstuck with your client.
The best clinicians are always learning, reviewing their work and looking to grow. Developing yourself personally and professionally all through life is the work and joy of a therapist. Working with Leslie will help you to tighten up your approach so that you are more effective and less bored. Let’s sit down and think together about your more frustrating cases so that you can get back to enjoying your work!
