Psychotherapy Institute is an opportunity to grow yourself as a therapist in a gradual and lasting way. This is a class that meets weekly for one hour over the course of a year and provides you with bite-sized and digestible pieces of information that build on one another to form a coherent whole. What you learn will profoundly change the way you understand your work and yourself. You will be part of a small cohort of learners, studying together and sharing the experience.
In class you will get a clear new understanding of what makes therapy work, specific interventions that make sense of the complex task of conducting a successful therapy. We will take exercises from Jon Fredrickson’s book, Healing Through Relating, and work with them together as a group through discussion, skill building exercises, and videotaped segments of therapy sessions. This material is likely to be different from what you have learned in the past, so we learn it gradually and take time to integrate the ideas over the course of a year.
